What you need for this ZOOMdo:
  • couch, table, or some chairs pushed together

What you do for this ZOOMdo:

  1. When you are doing pantomime, it helps to imagine that you are actually doing the thing that you are pantomiming, like leaning up against an imaginary wall. It takes a lot of practice to get good at pantomime, so be patient with yourself. You'll find that the practice is really worth it because it's lots of fun and a great way to entertain your friends.
  2. Leaning against a wall:
  3. Cross your left leg over your right leg and lean towards your left.
  4. Put your left shoulder up in the air like you're resting your left elbow against an imaginary wall.
  5. Keep your left hand really loose so it dangles.
  6. Imaginary escalator:
  7. Stand behind a couch, table, or chairs pushed together (this helps with the illusion). Pretend to grab the rails of an escalator.
  8. Walk forward slowly, lowering yourself to the ground a little bit more with each step in one smooth movement. The most important thing for the imaginary escalator is to keep your back straight and your head up.
  9. Tug o' war:
  10. It's a good idea to practice playing tug o' war with a real rope first.
  11. To pantomime pulling on an imaginary rope, put one hand in front of the other with a few inches in between them. The distance between your hands should always stay the same. It helps to imagine that there is something between your hands to separate them. Pull the imaginary rope towards your body. Your hands shouldn't move; let your body move instead.
  12. To pull the imaginary rope again, put one hand in front of the other and pull them towards your body.
  13. When you've got that down, you and a friend can play tug o' war. When your friend pulls, you'll have to move towards him. Plan out your moves together.
