What you do for this ZOOMdo:
This ZOOMdo is a little different because instead of giving you the directions to make something, we want you to take a challenge from Ms. M's class to make your own junk creature out of recycled materials. There's no right or wrong way to make a junk creature, just use your imagination and have fun! After you make your creature, you can make up personality traits for her like what she does for a living and what she likes to eat.
To make their junk creatures, the ZOOMers worked together in teams. Kaleigh and Aline made Francois the French Painter and Rachel and Matt made Juggles the Clown.
Francois' head is made out of an empty soda bottle; his body is a cereal box; and his arms and legs are paper towel tubes. They made him a palette out of a paper plate and used milk caps for his paints. He has a paintbrush made out of a straw and a pipe cleaner. Francois is 37 years old and likes to paint landscapes of Paris. He also likes to take walks on the beach; that's why he's wearing sandals. His dog's name is Fi Fi.
Juggles' head is made out of two pie tins glued together; his body is two cereal boxes; his shoes are milk cartons; and his arms are paper towel tubes. His legs used to be made out of paper towel rolls, but they were too flimsy and he couldn't stand up, so they made new legs for him out of plastic cups instead and this works a lot better. Juggles is a juggler at the circus. They made him balls to juggle out of paper plates and straws. He loves to eat pie and cereal with cream. He likes the environment because he's made out of recycled materials.
