Check out this line graph. The number of pets owned is listed across the bottom. The average age of the kids who own them is listed up the side. What do you see? On average, it looks like kids with the most pets are older than the kids with the fewest pets. Know what that means? It looks like the evidence supports Part 1 of our hypothesis! HA! The age difference is pretty small, though. The "oldest" group is the group with 10 pets. The average age of ZOOMers in that group is 11.5 years old. The "youngest" group is the group with 3 pets. The average age of ZOOMers in that group is 10.3 years old. That's a difference of only 1.2 years (about 14 1/2 months). Ok, so we're halfway there. What about the second part of that hypothesis? |
