WELCOME parents, educators, and all other BOOMer ZOOMers. This All-Things-ZOOM tour is just for you!
"By kids, for kids"®, ZOOM is a daily interactive television series that challenges five- to eleven-year-olds to "turn off the TV and do it!" Based on the original hit series from the 70's, ZOOM is packed with science experiments, recipes, plays, games, jokes, chats, poems, and volunteer ideas, all sent in by viewers, and offering a wealth of activities for kids to do by themselves, with friends, or with their parents. Behind each entertaining half-hour episode is a curriculum developed by leading educators and advisors. ZOOM's multidisciplinary content-based format teaches viewers how to take an active approach to learning--to ask questions, create, experiment, open themselves up to new possibilities, and have fun! ZOOM airs daily on PBS.

The ZOOM Web site brings to a massive Web audience a "by kids, for kids"® world parallel to that of the TV series. The 1,000+page Web site, offers an online opportunity to discover the TV show, its content and cast, and to join in and "Send it to ZOOM!" Nearly 75 separate areas on the site are updated with the latest stuff from kids. With nearly 1/4 of a million weekly web visitors, and an average 32,000 weekly e-mails, the ZOOM Web site has become a top web destination for 6-13 year olds. Since the site's launch in 1999, over 5.2 million kids have "Sent it to ZOOM!"

Have you done a ZOOM activity at a mall, museum, afterschool program, classroom, or even in your own living room? ZOOM's Educational Outreach team creates materials parents and teachers can use to help kids explore science, math, and engineering. For example, ClubZOOM Engineering is a six-week afterschool curriculum designed to get kids thinking like real engineers. You can find the entire guide in the Find Activities section of the ZOOMsci Training Resources. We also travel across the country offering workshops to engineers, teachers, and afterschool providers on how to incorporate ZOOM's extensive resources into their programs. If you can't make a workshop, visit ZOOMsci Training: Learn to Lead Science Activities and in as little as 40 minutes, walk away with tips and resources you can use to excite kids about science.
