(Note: All actions in this play are pantomimed.) (Basketball Player enters dribbling an imaginary basketball. She sits on an imaginary bench. Reader enters and approaches the Basketball Player.)
Reader:
Whatcha doin'?
Basketball Player:
Sitting on the red bench.
Reader:
Can I join you?
Basketball Player:
Sure.
(Reader sits. Note -- for sitting, just squat as if you were sitting on the bench.) (Walkman Girl approaches.)
Walkman Girl:
Whatcha doin'?
Basketball Player and Reader:
Sitting on the red bench.
Walkman Girl:
Can I join?
Basketball Player and Reader:
Sure.
(Walkman Girl sits. Gameboy Boy enters and approaches the group.)
Gameboy Boy:
Whatcha doin'?
Basketball Player, Reader, and Walkman Girl:
Sitting on the red bench.
Gameboy Boy:
Can I join?
Basketball Player, Reader, and Walkman Girl:
Sure.
(Gameboy Boy sits. Yo-Yoer number 1 and Yo-Yoer number 2 enter and approach the group.)
Yo-Yoer number 1 AND Yo-Yoer number 2:
Whatcha doin'?
Basketball Player, Reader, Walkman Girl, and Gameboy Boy:
Sitting on the red bench.
Yo-Yoer number 1 AND Yo-Yoer number 2:
Can we join you?
Basketball Player, Reader, Walkman Girl, and Gameboy Boy:
Sure.
(Yo-Yoer number 1 and Yo-Yoer number 2 sit. Bench Girl enters.)
Bench Girl:

All (except Bench Girl):
Sitting on the red bench.
Bench Girl:
You mean the one my dad just painted?
(People on bench stand up and turn around. The audience sees that their behinds are red from sitting on the imaginary red bench that is still wet with red paint.) |
