Ages
For Ages 5-8
To help children spend some time with the older generation, you can organize an outing to a local senior center (if it is practical) and have the children ask the seniors to tell them a story about when they were little. Children might want to write down the story, decorate it, and send it to their new friend.

If it is not practical to visit a senior center, have children ask a family member or a special adult to tell them a story about when they were little. Children might ask a parent, their teacher, the school secretary, the principal, or a favorite librarian. Again, if they wish, children can write down the story, decorate it, and give it to their special adult.
