My favorite thing about cheer is tumbling. I love trying out new skills and the rush you get when you achieve a new skill. In the beginning I loved cheer, because I loved the combination of learning the routine and performing it in front of people. The excitement you get from the crowd is so exhilarating. Within the next five years I will have a double full tumbling pass. In five years I can see myself cheering in college somewhere, and coaching at a gym.
What motivates me to keep trying in cheer is: my teammates, my coaches and myself. My teammates help motivate me because they encourage me, and they depend on me to give my all. My coaches are big motivators, in that they push me to do beyond the best that I think I can. I am a big self-motivator, because I want to do the best that I could possibly do, and have no regrets about anything. If someone approached me, wanting advice on how to get started in cheer, I would tell him or her to take some classes. Try to stand out and catch the coach’s eye. If they know you are trying, then they are more likely to give you a chance.
