What I enjoy most about kayaking is (a) getting away from the real world and (b) the adrenaline rush.
My dad put me in kayak lessons four years ago, and at first I wasn’t into it that much. Then two years ago I got pretty serious with it when I got a couple of my friends into it. What motivates me is having fun with my friends and pushing each other to get better. My dad also pushes me to get better; it’s nice having parents who support what you love to do.
I would like to continue competing regularly and make the Canadian junior team again and go to Australia for the world championships.
Take a lesson: kayaking is a dangerous sport, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. It’s not worth getting hurt or even dying for nothing. As silly as that sounds, it happens way too often.
I’d like to thank my mom and dad; they’re the number one reason I got where I am.
