I love hockey because it is a really challenging sport and I love challenges. Challenging, because to play hockey you need to be strong physically, you need to be agile, you need to be in a great shape, you need a lot of self-discipline, you need patience and, the most important, you need to be strong mentally.
Achieving all these tasks is not an easy goal and that’s why I love hockey so much. It pushes me constantly and gives me a new challenge every day. I also love everything about hockey, from stick handling to checking someone on the boards; I could live in a rink and be entertained for the rest of my life.
My brother and my father have always played hockey, and I started to skate when I was two years old, so hockey was just something that I’ve always been doing. I think I was three months old when I first visited a hockey rink. Hockey has just always been in my life, and I am so glad it has.
First of all, I love hockey so much that I don’t really have to push myself to play; I just always want to play. In everything I do I always want to be the best at what I do, and hockey is just one of those things. It’s a lot easier for me to push myself to get better at hockey, because I love it so much and most of my dreams are based on this sport.
In the next five years, I want to play college hockey in the United States in the NCAA league, Division One. I’m also looking forward to having a spot on the National Canadian Team, and I am really looking forward for the next World Women’s Championship at the next Olympics in 2006
