What I enjoy most about baton twirling is performing and entertaining the audience with my one-, two- or three-baton routines.
My mom, a former twirler, attracted me to the sport of baton twirling when I was 4 years old.
I am motivated to keep trying harder in twirling because I want to be the best I can be and to perform well on the floor.
The goal I have been working so hard to achieve in twirling is to make it on the World Baton Twirling Team and to perform at world-level competition. I believe I will reach my goal within the next two years.
My advice to other kids who want to try out baton twirling would be to learn as many different skills and tricks using the baton, take up ballet and gymnastic lessons and practice everyday and never give up. Twirling is a lot of fun, so give it a try.
