Postcards

In this creative “Postcards” activity, your child will experience language and literacy, in both English and Spanish, in an exciting animated environment.

Sending postcards will encourage your child to get to know the Maya & Miguel show characters in an amusing way. English and Spanish language postcards will be posted and include a character picture and favorite expression to enjoy. Then your child will also have the fun opportunity to write his/her own personal postcard message to send in English, Spanish or own native language.

Sending “Postcards” supports these important learning objectives:

  • to encourage English and Spanish language acquisition
  • to express ideas in written English, Spanish or your own native language
  • to support episode vocabulary and connect with character experiences
  • to communicate with others through the use of technology

Extend your child’s “Postcards” learning experience by using these ideas:

  • help your child start a collection of postcards
  • set a goal to send someone special a postcard once a week, month or on special occasions
  • make an art collage with postcards
  • wallpaper a special area in your home with postcards
  • help improve written language skills by encouraging your child to write friendly letters or kind notes to share with loved ones, neighbors, etc.
