World
of Sports The
“World of Sports” game invites your child to
join Miguel and Andy as they interview neighborhood experts
about the history and basic rules of different sports from
around the world. After learning about each sport, your
child will get to play a simple, clickable (click-tivity)
game version of that sport.

Playing “World of Sports”
supports these important learning objectives:
- to encourage English and Spanish language acquisition
- to learn about the history and basic rules of playing
different sports from around the world
- to support episode vocabulary in English and Spanish
- to participate in friendly competition
- to promote an appreciation of cultural diversity
Extend your child’s “World
of Sports” learning experience by using these ideas:
- invite your child to play a “home version”
of each one of Miguel and Andy’s featured sports
- encourage your child to participate in indoor and outdoor
activities that encourage following rules and cooperative
play
- take a stroll through your local retail sporting store
and discover the many pieces of equipment used for various
sporting activities
- place different sports into specific groups: Sports
using balls, water sports, individual/team sports (keep
in mind that many sports can be played as an individual
or team sport, like golf, gymnastics and tennis, while
sports like baseball, soccer and football are most often
played as team sports.)
