Tell-Us-Vision

In Maya & Miguel's lively "Tell-Us-Vision" activity, your child will explore learning language and literacy in both English and Spanish through fun write-in activities.

Tell-Us-Vision invites your child to share his/her own ideas around a particular theme, such as moving or making new friends. Your child can write about his/her ideas or experiences through a written email in English or Spanish. For inspiration, check out Maya and her friends' great ideas. Read other kids' ideas, too! And, watch a short animated videoclip from a television episode. This activity provides opportunities to use both English and Spanish language: an exciting option, especially for participants learning a new or second language!

Playing "Tell-Us-Vision" supports these important learning objectives:

  • to encourage English and Spanish language acquisition
  • to provide opportunities to express ideas through written composition in English, Spanish, or other native language
  • to support episode vocabulary
  • to communicate through the use of technology
  • to improve fine motor skills
  • to promote an appreciation of cultural diversity

Extend your child's "Tell-Us-Vision" learning experience by using these ideas:

  • invite your child to help you communicate with family and friends via email
  • improve written language skills by helping your child compose friendly letters or kind notes to share with loved ones, neighbors, etc.
  • help your child make connections with show characters by discussing similar like and differences
  • establish age-appropriate computer rules for your child to use. Talk to him or her about what's okay and what's not okay on the Internet. For a fun game about Internet safety and etiquette, check out /pbskids2008//license. To read PBS Kid's privacy policy, click here.
