A Day In The Life
Native American Boy a) No
“Second” parents were members of the Sioux nation. Besides learning from your parents, young Sioux also had additional teachers like these. They would teach you how to be a good son or daughter, a brave warrior, and a good husband or wife. Everybody in the tribe helped in raising the children. If a child showed a special talent, he might be sent to study with the “shaman,” or medicine man or one of the skilled trackers or hunters. A young girl who was creative might be taught beadwork from someone who was very skillful at bead and weaving arts.
