Help With Shockwave and Flash

Some parts of the WayBack site use Shockwave or Flash. Both are FREE Web plug-ins used widely on the Web. They may already be pre-installed on your computer, or you can download them for free on Macromedia's Flash page. It only takes a few minutes to download and install them, then you don't have to think about it again. They'll stay on your computer, and whenever you find an animated Shockwave or Flash activity on the Web, it should automatically start up.

Thousands of Web sites use Flash and Shockwave pages, not just WayBack. We build activities in Shockwave or Flash to bring them alive with sounds and interactivity. But we have text-only versions of all the activities too, so you can still enjoy WayBack without the plug-ins. Just look for the words "text-only" on each activity's launch page.
