Meet the Characters

The Kratt brothers are creators and hosts of Kratts' Creatures. They've been creature adventuring ever since they were as big as a wombat, first in their backyard and now all over the world. The brothers started making wildlife films while in college when they went on camping trips around the world and filmed wildlife. They edited the films in their basement and brought them into schools to show kids. Now, they've made 50 episodes of Kratts' Creatures in Africa, Central America, Australia and all around the world.

Allison

AllisonAt the Creature Club, a funky field research station nestled in the woods outside a North American suburb, 15-year-old Allison Baldwin helps the Kratt brothers find their way around the creature world without getting into too much trouble. Allison uses the Creature Screen, a large video monitor which allows her to see them no matter where they are in the world, to advise the guys in the field.

Allison is played by actress Shannon Duff. Shannon is no 'newbie' to acting or television. Shannon's acting career began on the theater stage as a member of The Oshawa Little Theatre Youth Group, where she appeared in the musicals "Bye, Bye, Birdie" and "Evita." Shannon made her professional debut in The Canadian Stage Company's production of "Once on This Island." Her acting career soon flourished into television where her credits included hosting and reporting for "Global Kids TV" and playing the lead role on Nickelodeon's "Are You Afraid of the Dark." She currently attends Archbishop Denis O'Conner High School in Ajax, Ontario, where she is a junior. Shannon is thrilled to be working on Kratts' Creatures and proud to be a member of the team.

Ttark

TtarkHe's many animals all mixed into one... part bird, part reptile, part mammal. Ttark is Allison's wise-cracking, animated cartoon friend and jungle-smart creature consultant. Ttark is as old as the earth itself (he knew the dinosaurs personally!) and could answer most any question about the creature world. No wonder Martin and Chris like to have him around! He knows what it's like to be an animal. So not only can he tell us about the history of the mastodons, he can tell us what it's like to breathe underwater!

Yes, Ttark looks at the creature kingdom differently than we do- not only is he an animal, but he's a cartoon too! He gives us his own stylish "Ttark Art" illustration of how horses evolved from creatures as small as chickens and shows us a cross section of the bighorn's skull to explain how they can butt heads without scrambling their brains.

He's Allison's best friend and advisor. He's always bombarding Allison (and us) with those silly animal sayings ... "colliding camels!, grazing gazelles!" Stay around him for just one day and you might hear him say "only an African Meerkat would say that!"... Ttark is an important member of the creature team; he's always providing new information that sends the adventure spinning off in a new direction.
