Who do we share the planet with?

The Kratts' Creatures Web site is one big creature adventure that lets children, parents and teachers explore the world together to find out.

Go scuba diving in the ocean to discover coral reefs, dolphins, stingrays, and sharks. Go flying in a plane to discover a cacophony of birds. Go canoeing in the Canadian wilderness to discover just how interesting beavers and moose really are. Go on safari in Africa to see some of the most fascinating creatures on earth. Go to the Arctic to find one of the few creatures that can be found on every continent. Go ‘down under’ to visit the creatures of the Outback.

In the process of going on all these adventures children, parents and teachers learn hundreds of animal facts, creature skills and behaviors together as they explore a host of different habitats located across the globe. The site allows players to collect video clips for every creature they find. Players can then use their personal video clip collection to make unique creature movies that can be shared with friends, family, classmates, and PBS Kids of all ages.

Building on popular interest in user-generated media, the Kratts' Creatures site extends the educational goals of the TV program by encouraging children to stretch their imaginations and creative muscles and make their own wildlife mini-documentaries. This entire site is an educational “video” game in the truest sense. The goal of the game is to earn all the creature videos on the site and create and share as many creature films as possible.

In the process of playing the game, earning points, having fun and making movies, children, parents and teachers will be exposed to a world of knowledge about nature and the creatures who share our little blue planet.
