Mysterious Bee Disappearance Explained!

Did you hear about the case of the disappearing bees? Over the last few months, honeybees went missing and nobody knew why! Now, the culprit may have been found. Experts in Spain say it's a deadly fungus called nosema ceranae. The tiny fungus is so small that you need a microscope to see it.

Spanish scientists discovered the problem when they inspected hundreds of empty beehives. They aren't sure that the parasite is to blame in the US, but they think it's a probable cause. Other theories for the disappearance included cell phone towers or the use of pesticides.

When the bees went missing, farmers started to worry. They need the bees to pollinate their crops. If plants aren't pollinated, they won't grow the food we eat, like almonds, cucumbers, squash, and blueberries. Beekeepers haul beehives around the country and take them to farms to let them do their important work.

The good news is that if the fungus is the problem, it's cheap and easy to solve. Beekeepers can buy a chemical that kills the fungus and keeps the bees alive and unharmed. Good luck, beekeepers!
