I am doing a science fair project for the first time. I have an idea but I don't know if it will work. I am a gymnast and was going to get the other 4 girls on my team to all perform their routine. First with no noise and then second with loud noises from symbols and such. The problem is I can't think of a topic question...Does sound affect balance? Do distractions affect balance?

meghan, OH | Sound

I am answering Kayla's question. Technically yes, even though your balance system is in you ear your brain needs your eyes ears and mussels to keep balanced. This was on FETCH another PBS kids Go show. just to prove it, try walking on a line blind folded. see where you end up. If you can do that spin a lot to mess up you balance system in your ear. now it is a bit harder to mes up your mussel system with out hurting your self. Be careful!
