459 and 1!

Have you ever heard the phrase "All good things must come to an end?" There are some wrestlers in Florida who would have to agree. The Brandon High School wrestling team just lost their first match in 35 years. The school had the longest winning streak in history!

The team has been pinning their opponents to the mat since 1973. All that ended last week when Brandon High School lost after 459 straight wins. South Dade from Miami defeated Brandon in a close match.

Russ Cozart, the Brandon coach, was a good sport about the epic loss. He hugged Victor Balmeceda, the South Dade coach and then he shook the hands of each player on the team.

There were tears in the audience because it was such an emotional time. Joey Cozart, the coach's son won the last match. But his victory wasn't enough to win the whole competition. It must have been hard for Brandon High, but they still have one thing: the record for the longest high school winning streak in any sport in the nation.

I'm Lucy and that's what happened in sports this week!
