Patriots vs. Giants in Superbowl XLII
Superbowl Sunday is just ahead! The big game could be the perfect ending for the New England Patriots and their fans. The Pats won 16 straight wins in the regular season, plus two more in the playoffs. A victory on Sunday would give them the winningest season in National Football League history.
The Patriots will face the New York Giants and it promises to be an exciting game. Their last win was against the Giants, but it was also one of their toughest games. The Giants were ahead by 12 points, but the Patriots managed to turn things around. Their quarterback, Tom Brady, was a big reason the Patriots came back. He has been the starting quarterback for the past 126 games and has won three Superbowl rings already.
But the Giants are on a hot streak too. They won three playoff games including an upset victory against the Green Bay Packers to get to the Superbowl. In that game, Giant's quarterback Eli Manning outplayed the Packers' star quarterback Brett Favre. Eli is the youngest of a family of pro-football quarterbacks. His father is Archie Manning, who played for several NFL teams. His brother, Peyton Manning, is the quarterback of last year's Superbowl champs, the Indianapolis Colts. Fans of the Giants and the Patriots can expect a thrilling day on Sunday!
