Space Station Gets Some Much Needed Repairs/b>

Just as your home needs repairs every now and then, so does the International Space Station. But floating at 220 miles above the ground, fixing the space station is definitely way more exciting - and dangerous!

Two American astronauts, Michael Lopez-Alegria and Sunita L. Williams, finished their second space walk in less than a week. Each time they spent almost eight hours floating in space while working on the cooling system for their laboratory. The lab is where scientists living on the station perform many unique experiments. The two astronauts are living on the space station right now along with Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin.

A NASA expert said fixing the station was tough. It's like working on a car engine while wearing a snowsuit with your gloves on! Astronaut Lopez-Alegria agreed, saying that at the end, his hands were "toast."

The two astronauts have one more walk scheduled and their hard work is making history. Williams has already set a record for the most time walking in space by any woman. And when the third walk is completed Lopez-Alegria will be the second longest space walker in history.

I'm Ben and that's what happened ABOVE our nation this week.

Astronauts don't always get the recognition they deserve! Play the Match game and place their names to their faces!
