I In The Sky

Have you ever wanted your face on a billboard? If you're in New York City in the next month, you'll have your chance. A new public art project called "I In The Sky" is putting everyday faces in one of the most famous places in the Big Apple: Times Square.

Here's what happens: anyone who wants to can visit a photo booth in an art gallery called chashama. The camera takes a bunch of pictures. Then the pictures are put together and animated to make a little movie that looks like a flipbook. The images are put up on a billboard, 48 stories above Times Square.

You can see the pictures from Times Square, and even across the Hudson River in New Jersey. "I In The Sky" was made by artist Raul Vincent Enriquez and other art groups. Enriquez wanted to create something that would stand out from all the commercials in the area and make people see things differently.

Times Square is in midtown Manhattan, where Broadway and Seventh Avenue meet. It got its name from the building that used to be the offices of the New York Times newspaper. It is a very busy area, and the buildings around Times Square have huge billboards that show commercials 24 hours a day. That's commercials, and ordinary people, thanks to "I In The Sky".

I'm Isaac and that's what happened in the arts this week!
