What do you get when experts in using the power of popular media to support preschoolers’ educational growth and development join the leading producers of entertainment for kids and families worldwide? NOGGIN’s new original series supporting preschoolers’ early literacy called PINKY DINKY DOO.
A co-production of Sesame Workshop and NOGGIN, PINKY DINKY DOO is the new animated series from Jim Jenkins, award-winning creator of popular children’s series Doug andAllegra’s Window. The heroine of her eponymous series is seven-year-old Pinky Dinky Doo, a girl uses her imagination to solve everyday problems. Through Pinky’s adventures, children will gain a better understanding of the basic elements that make up narrative, and they’ll be inspired to create their own stories as well.
PINKY DINKY DOO is designed to promote children’s reading success by inviting them to participate in funny, and fantastic stories, games and songs that support critical early literacy skills.
The series has four primary goals:
- Celebrate the power of inventing stories that come from ideas in one’s head
- Introduce the basic elements of narrative (characters, dialog, main ideas, sequence of events, details)
- Engage viewers in language and interaction surrounding stories that promote their ability to listen, think and learn
- Expand vocabulary through stories that make words, ideas and concepts come alive
