Giants Stage Super Upset

If you are a fan of a big upsets, then last Sunday's Superbowl was the game for you. The New York Giants beat the New England Patriots 17-14, ending the Pats quest for a perfect season. The Giants did it with defense, as they stifled the most explosive team in NFL history.

The Giants took the lead in the fourth quarter by a score of 10 to 7. But, as he had all year, Patriot quarterback Tom Brady marched his team down the field. When Brady hit Randy Moss with a touchdown, the Patriots were back on top with less than three minutes to go. But Eli Manning brought the Giants back, throwing a touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress with only 35 seconds left. Eli, was named the game's MVP, just like his brother Peyton who led the Indianapolis Colts to a Superbowl win last year,

How does the game compare with the other great upsets in Superbowl history? Well, Joe Namath and the New York Jets shocked heavily favored Baltimore Colts in 1969. And Tom Brady's Patriots stunned the high-powered Saint Louis Rams in 2001 to win their first of three rings. The Giant's win on Sunday was nearly as surprising as those great games and will certainly be remembered as one of the most exciting Superbowl championships ever.
