Snoopy Would Be Proud!

Last week's top dog was a beagle named Uno. Uno means first in Spanish, and it's the perfect name for the dog that won Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Besides taking first place, Uno was also the first beagle to win the top honor since the show began in 1877.

The crowd went wild when the winner was announced. Many people were surprised. You could say that Uno was a bit of an underdog. That's because the winners are usually big dogs with lots of hair and impressive looks.

Uno is a 15-inch beagle. He competed with 2,627 other dogs from 157 different breeds. Uno was bred in Belleville, Illinois.

Beagles are a very docile breed. They are one of the most popular in the US. They are good around kids, and they make a howling sound when they're excited. Uno was the noisiest dog at the show because he kept baying. He also jumped and chewed on the microphones of reporters who tried to interview him. Some famous beagles are Snoopy and Underdog.

I'm Lucy and that's what happened in Sports this week!
