Sarah, OH | Surface Tension
My science teacher did this in class except she put the soap on a toothpick. no body knew what happened until she brought out the soap bottle from the cabinet.

Marcos, AZ | Surface Tension
They separated out to the end of the bowl and it looked like a pushing magnet because it started in the middle and went its way to the outside.

Kelsey =], NJ | Surface Tension
im doing this project for seventh grade science and it is a quick experiment but it was fun. i made a hypothesis and found out what would happen if i mixed dish soap pepper and water together in a dish. the pepper all scattered at once to the side of the bowl! it was awesomeeeee!!!

Chase, GA | Surface Tension
The pepper spread out towards the rim of the dish.

Andy, NJ | Surface Tension
spread out toward the rim of dish

Tori, MN | Surface Tension
Mine floated to the bottem.

dragon, | Surface Tension
this was a crazy idea but a lot of freaking fun.

Parker, CA | Surface Tension
Use Vegetable Oil instead of Water. Soap affects the oil the same way, only the reaction is slower. Also, back to water, if you use an antacid, the surface is broken slightly, the pepper will not rush to the edge as it does with soap.

Erin, MO | Surface Tension
First I did it in hot water and it went to the sides. Then I did it with cold water but it did not make any differance. It still went to the side like in the hot water did.

Braxton, IN | Surface Tension
when i put the soap in IT SPREAD TO THE SIDES!

kaitlyn, | Surface Tension
Hi How do I got it to work

Rachel, RI | Surface Tension
It spread out to the rim of the bowl.

alex, | Surface Tension
my result was that when you put pepper in to a bowl of water with soap, the soap breaks the surface tension and the pepper gets pushed to the side of the container

matthew, NJ | Surface Tension
it was cool how it went to the side of the bowl

michael, NY | Surface Tension
In a shallow bowl the pepper left the center to cling to the sides right away. Then we tried it in a tall oval shaped vase. The pepper made clumps at the sides.

Emma, UT | Surface Tension
It went all the way to the sides
